3 months!

I cant believe that Nathan is already 3 months! It seems like yesterday we were telling our family I was pregnant. Just a little update on everything that Nathan is doing, he can roll from his back to belly like a champ but is still working on belly to back, he "talks" constantly and loves it when anyone will talk back. He smiles most of the time and has given us a few laughs!

Finding Nathan

I am so sorry that it is taking me this long to finally right the birth story of Nathan.
the story actually begins a week before I gave birth. Sunday March 3rd I hit 40 weeks and I was dying to meet my little baby however it would be almost a whole week before he would come. every night around 8 or 9 p.m. I would start having contractions and they would last till about 2 a.m. on Friday March 8th run I decided to have one last dinner before Nathan got here so we decided to go out TGI Fridays. however want her food arrives I started feeling sick and a side of the box everything up to go only came back home. we decided to rent a movie and as working everything ready I sat down and thought that um my parents felt a little wet so I set up to go change and when I did I had a contraction and my water completely broke. (we notify the the doula.) It was about 8 p.m. and we decided to just get some towels and extra pjs pants and continue watching movies as I timed my contractions. when I turned on the movie channel Finding Nemo was on so I decided just to prop up and watch it. at first contractions aren't too bad they're pretty much what I've been feeling the past week and they were about every seven to 10 minutes. around 11 p.m. I told Ryan to go upstairs and get as much sleep as he could and I continued to walk around the house and try to work through my contractions. I wanted to try to sleep in between them however it didn't seem possible I was too anxious knowing that with in 24 hours I was going to have my baby! as a contraction started to get harder and stronger I decided that I would try to either the hot shower, this worked of it on till about 2 to 3 o'clock in the morning when I woke Ryan up. I knew around then I started to need help to work through the contractions. we decide to go downstairs and try the yoga ball and him helping me do squats to help ease the contraction pain. We turned on our movie channel again to help with some distractions and Finding Nemo was on again :) the contractions got really hard I start counting room to help me work through the pain. around 5 o'clock I had called my mom and told her to come pick up Harlow and we are on our way to the hospital. Our doula told me that we would go to the hospital when I felt ready and for whatever reason I decided that I thought ready enough to go in so we left around 6:30 a.m. On our way to the hospital I was so tired that I would being counting out a contraction and then just start snoring.  When we got to the hospital we forgot what floor to go and ended up going to the three different floors. (go ahead and picture me almost 41 weeks pregnant in labor waddling around the hospital soaking wet from my water leaking. when we did get to the right for any checks me and put me up to the mountains sure check out Nathans movement. he wasn't moving as much as I wanted and I had to try to lay on my left side and drink some juice and have some honey to get him moving around having to lay down launchers hooked up on me during contractions was horrible. since I was 7 centimeters dilated they went ahead and started getting off already but soon as a monitor we're done I can get in the water. once I got no water it wasn't much longer before I started pushing. is very zoned in to just me and my body so wasn't paying attention to much of what was going on around me. main thing I remember is Ryan continually pouring water that way back and try to keep me as relaxed as possible in between the contractions. once I started to push and I knew that it was actually happening I started to get a little nervous. after pushing a few times  he came out and was perfect.(11:27 am 8lbs 6oz 21 inches) I brought him to my chest and just lay there while I held him. We delayed cord clamping for about 10 minutes. (Ryan clamp the cord.) I have you ever tried pushing so hard to get two sets of stitches and a shot of pitocin to stop my excessive bleeding. Shortly afterwards we were moved to our recovery room and was discharged the next day. I had an amazing birth! I was blessed to not only have my husband there to support me but also a wonderful midwife, doula, and nurse! My birth was everything I wanted and more and every time I watch finding Nemo now I remember that amazing day!

Holidays and third trimester...

8 weeks left and we made it through the holidays!! We have one meeting left with the doula and a water birth class to go to but I feel like we have accomplished most of the important things.

Trying to find a pediatrician this week...finding one that will let us delay our vaccines seems to be hard.
